APTRANSCO  Assistant Engineers (AE) Electrical 2012 Memory Based Question Papers with answers given by visitor.

1.  A voltage waveform v(t)= 12 t2 is applied across a 1H inductor for t>=0 with initial current through it being zero. The current through the inductor for t>=0 is given by———–(4t3)

2.       Two incandescent light bulbs fo 40w and 60w rating are connected in series across the mains. Then——–(the 40 bulb glows brighter)

friends let me discuss about the ap transco key ..

there are almost 10 mistakes in key …
1) 40 w bulb glows brighter
2) vaccuum cb is used in capacitor bank
3) no of comparators is 7
4) and frequency is high in induction
5) at the terminals of sync generator lg fault current is high
6) 4 point starter is used in field weakening control
7) the compensating coil of lpf is used for current coil compensation i.e., (i) is true and (ii) is faulse

but there are also correct answers which we think are wrong let me tell u the reason also but dont think otherwise

1) the answer c(t) u(t-1) is correct because if i/p is applied through a delay means output is also delays by the same delay but if c(t-1) u(t-1) is the answer means it is delayed by two time constants which is absolutely not a possible thing so the answer is only c(t) u(t-1)

2) and for cro also the signals are sinusoidal with their frequencies very close but not equal because the signal is varying from ellipse to circle and then ellipse which is a continuus thing .. however if the signals are having small phase difference of constant value how would it be possible to get the changing signal . we will get only either ellipse or cirle thats it .. but he has given clearly the signal is of changing nature
so the answer is correct which is the signals are sinusoidal with their frequencies very close but not equal .

3) phase lead compensation means we are adding a zero first right that means we are making the system nothing but underdamped system which will be having fast rise time but with dampings at steady state i.e., the answer is absoutely decrease rise time and increase the overshoot ….

4) and in biased differential relay the answer is absolutely restraining coil turns by operating coil turns because he has given turns in option a not the current so the answer is absolutely Nr/No … which can be verified from any book …

Is anyone finding difference in marks when Transco Key is compared with the answers put in the exam,
I want to find out if there is any fault in correction.
I got 75, and found the marks are more or less equal to the answers I have put

mr.v linga reddy DOB is 01/01/1989 you got 53 marks How can you say you getting 94 marks ya .Don’t post wrong comments here we are posting only right and true comments please don’t do it again sorry if i am rude….

Mr yadagiri I too opted for airblast cb only. But as the was answer was given as all breakers, i verified in the text books. resistance switcvh is employed in OCB,MOCB,AB but as RRRV in case of low and medium rating is low in case of OCB & MOCB it was not used for these ratings however for high ratings it is used. But generally what we all read is it was employed for ABCB(for any rating).Sorry if iam wrong. But i verified from text books.

hi friends i got 27 marks in first list and in second list i got 62 marks. but when i cross check my answer with the key given by ap transco, the marks i obtained are around 73- 75 .. is any body gone through the same situation. please reply….kindly do the needful…

9)cro question small phase diff (not thire frequencies are not same)
10)compators 7 (not 8)
11)load inductance only (not both resitance and inducatance)
the above ans are surly correct these are gate questions any doubt see ACE VOLUME-1 AND VOLUME-2 MATERIALS they provide with solution also

Mr. ajay i agree with you.yes 3 mistakes are there in genco key.
Those are
1)self GMD used to find inductance only(not for both becoz in capcitor inside charge is zero)
2)jacobian matrix 21*21(not 19*19)
3)num of triangle is 13(not 11)
the above ans are pakka correct
i am saying based on c.l wadhava book

Mr.vasu i am not agree with you resistance swithing employeed only in air blast CB not in all.
In AB axial blast lo matrame use chestaru cross blast lo use cheyaru kavalante chusuko it is staight gate question in 1996

Foe some bits our answers were correct but,
As i told u they consider the answers from some other book(may be from G K Publishers) and we lost around 8-10 marks .
Some others who followed the same book as that of question paper setters gained arond 8-10marks
what a pity it is?

Mr. mahesh i am agree with u becoz paper is easy for only who solve previous gate papers otherwise it is difficult to getting more than 65.more than 80% ques get from gate papers only

Mr. vasu in jb gupta new and old series so many mistakes r there ……it’s true u can also ask u r friends they will also says same thing…so if u have ace material see in that only they will give correct ans surely
