1.(a)  Explain the register organization of 8086.
(b)  Discuss the data addressing modes of 8086.

2.(a)  Draw and discuss the bus activities of an 8086 Microprocessor
during WRITE operation.
(b)  Explain now 8086 enters into WAIT state with neat diagrams.

3.(a)  List and describe in general terms the steps an 8086 will take
when it responds to an interrupt.
(b)  Develop a macro called ADD 32 that adds the 32 – bit contents of
DX – CX to the  32 – bit contents of Bx –Ax.

4.(a)  Discuss the function of paging directory and explain now it is
located in 80386.
(b)  Explain the basic architecture of 80486.

5.(a)  Design a memory sub system using two 16kx8 to PROMS at
COOOOH – CFFFFH and four 32kx8 RAMS  at 30000H – 4FFFFH.
(b)  Interface an ADC 080x at I/O port 0260H for data and 0270H to
test the INTR Pin and develop a program to READ an input voltage
once per 100ms and  store  the result in a memory array that is
100H bytes long.

6.(a)  Draw the functional block diagram of  programmable interval timer
8253 and explain the function of each block.
(b)  Discuss the role of ICWS and OCWS in dictating function
programmable interrupt controller 8259 with necessary command
word formats.

7.(a)  Draw the block diagram of 8051 and explain the function of each
block.
(b)  Explain how do you connect external memory to 8051 micro
controller.

8.(a)  Discuss  the interrupt structure of 8051.
(b)  Assuming the crystal frequency is 10MHz, write a program that
will use timer 1 to interrupt the program after a delay of  λ ms.
