TAMIL NADU TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (TNTET) – 2012

Paper 1 , Paper 2  Syllabus & Exam Pattern for Tamilnadu Teacher Eligibility Test TET

As mentioned in the TNTET Notification,the written test or Teacher Eligibility Test will consists of two papers i.e., Paper I  for Classes I to V &
Paper II for Classes VI to VIII .

Note that Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes 6th to 5th && Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes 6th to10th && A person who intends to teach both Classes 1st to 10th will have to appear for both Papers I and II.

Each Paper will comprise of 150 objective multiple choice questions MCQ’s,each question carrying 1 mark and the Duration of the Examination for each paper is 1 Hour and 30 Minutes. i.e, 90 minutes

Tentative Date of TNTET Written Examination ::

  • Paper I :: 03/06/2012 [10.00 – 11.30 A.M.]
  • Paper II :: 03/06/2012[02.00 – 03.30 A.M.]

TNTET Paper 1 Syllabus ::

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy (relevant to age group 6 – 11 years) :: 30 Questions for 30 Marks
  2. Language I –Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu :: 30 Questions for 30 Marks
  3. Language II – English :: 30 Questions for 30 Marks
  4. Mathematics :: 30 Questions for 30 Marks
  5. Environmental Studies :: 30 Questions for 30 Marks

TNTET Paper 2 Syllabus ::

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy (relevant to age group 11-14 years) :: 30 Questions for 30 Marks
  2. Language I –Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu :: 30 Questions for 30 Marks
  3. Language II – English :: 30 Questions for 30 Marks
  4. Content :: 60 Questions for 60 Marks
  • For Mathematics and Science Teacher ::  Mathematics and Science
  • For Social Studies Teacher :: Social Studies
  • For Any Other (Subject)Teacher :: Mathematics and Science (or) Social Studies
